Yahoo Search Marketing Newbie

Just signed up and ads already served?

I just signed up about an hour ago. I was under the impression there was a manual site review prior to ads being served and yet, my ads are running. Is it only a review of the ads or does my landing page/site also get reviewed?

I'm guessing the keywords you added are not considered by Yahoo to be 'highly searched' or competitive. Terms that do not meet a certain search criteria usually get automatically approved.

My advice would be to go into the account and change the keywords from Advanced to Standard match. And watch closely, some very shady things happening regarding the quality of clicks on Yahoo-Overture lately.

Thanks bostonseo. I wouldn't have thought that. Strange that keywords go from .50 to 5.00 in Adwords can be bought for .10 a click at Y. I just went in and changed it from Advanced to Standar Match type. Where can I find an explanation about Match Type?

Also, does Y have a report that shows real time results (I think that's the phrase) for impressions/clicks like Adwords or do we have to wait until the next day?

No real time results (or delayed results) like Google provides. Next day the clicks and cost will be availble...well most of the time :)
