Adsense Sites taking over PPC

Why they allow this is beyond me.

New twist on Overture / Yahoo PPC. Now Adsense sites like ShopZilla, Deal Time etc. are buying up every keyword known to man and of course they are being approved because the sites instantly search for a relevant page. However these pages have no content just more PPC Adwords.

So here's my take. I was competing for keywords with with these guys and now realize why bother? They have our Adwords ads on their site. I mentioned this to Yahoo but expect them to do nothing. So we will just remove all our Overture ads that are competing since they show our ad at the top of their page anyway.

Personally I hate spammy adsense sites but I know they make a lot of money for people around here... and I would probably like them better if they were my bread and butter.... but to Overture...this could potentially end up being a problem

Almost the entire internet has gone this route. I'm sure some of the people on this forum are responsible for it to a great degree but it's legal so more power to them.

Basicaly, when I search for ANYTHING, the first page of organic results and PPC results are links that take me to other pages which then allow me see even more PPC results. Like the people who I see on here who post things like "My site has 5,000 + pages and it's all content"....Get real!

The search engines are just conduits to take people to money making sites, then from the money making sites I MAY find what I'm looking for.

Alot of this is just pointless middlemen who have weazled themselves between the consumer and companies and just drive up the price of everything yet contribute nothing. Thanks Webmasters!

I agree with everything you said. I had a long talk with my rep at Yahoo and they said it's against the rules for these sites to adverstise via PPC on Yahoo. Something about other search engines etc. Now let's see what they do. I for one have stopped keywords already because the ShopZilla or whatever site already had by Google Adwords ad in the top position so why compete with my self.

I'll keep checking and update this thread of whether they did anything or nothing.

I suspect the latter.

They can't afford to do anything.

You were right Tropical Island

They have said they will do nothing even though these sites have NO content. And worse...their links LIE...saying they are pointing at the topical keyword but they don't. So I've pulled all my ads competing with them that already show my adwords...why should I compete with myself.
