Exceeding Daily Budget

I recently submitted 15,000 keywords on overture. I didn't change the pricing and turned "off" the cateogry so I can adjust the pricing at once when they have approved more than 10k keywords.

I resumed my campaign two days ago and set the default category pricing (0.30), yesterday overture approved around 100 keywords (top position for each keyword) and I got couple of billing notice from overture so I paused all of my campaigns. My budget is $30/day.

I just saw the updated stats and I have been charged $579.39 for 128 clicks. How is it possible? How can they exceed my budget more than 19 times?

Hi

I don't post in this category any more, as I was just repeating myself.

The system that Overture uses does not work!

Contact support?

Good luck

I think Yahoo's budget operates on the basis of a calendar month. If you set your budget to $30 a day, then they assume you want to spend $900 per month and let the money run until you hit an average of $30 per day for that month. If you start on the 30th of November, I think you could conceivably spend $900 on that day alone, then $30 the next day, Dec. 1. I've had them halt my spending temporarily to get my average down to my budget level.

grigoroo,

You're right, that's exactly what they said. Now they want me to deposit $700 (future 3 day click charges) and only then they will activate my account so I have paused everything, i'll start it again after few days once its down to $200 or so.

Thanks

Just to point out that MSN adCenter has the options of a 'daily limit' or 'no daily limit' If you choose 'daily limit' then if you reach the $30 limit the order is paused until 12:01 AM and then restarted.

I should add that in adCenter you set only a monthly budget, so if you pick the 'daily limit' option adCenter's engine will pause your order automatically when you have reached the avg. daily limit for the month.
