A nice change or a glitch

when adding new keywords now default not set to #1

I have been throwing my hat into the PPC arena in the competitve areas to grab some low priced keywords. Overture has been a real pain as every time I add new keywords these have always been set at the price for the #1 listing, which are often at almost $20. So when adding a few hundred keywords, it's taken some time to lower every bid to a reasonable level.

Just now I went to add a few hundred keywords and instead of being set to the #1 listing price, they were all set at the minimum. Is this new, or just a bug?

Also I have asked overture before if I could just set all new keywords to one price and they said no, but you could adjust the CPC of the category once approved. Unfortunately sometimes they don't notify you of approved keywords in a timely fashion and I've seen some big hits to my account when I overlooked one of those $18 keywords.

Thoughts?

Darn... just went to add more keywords and the system reverted back to having every bid at the #1 price. Too bad.

It's been this way for a long time and it's such a scam. Adding new terms also default to advanced match, which is
in their best interests too. I've ripped into them about having new keywords default to the #1 position, but it's a revenue decision. Yahoo's all about revenue.
