Due to this unpleasent experiences I had with Overture early this year, I decided to leave it as it March. There were a few clicktroughs coming in and since no competitor was active on Overture I spent my effort elsewhere.

About three weeks ago, I decided to check on the stats in Overture, and to my huge surprise the system told me that my ads were suspended since payment could not be accessed. It turned out that my creditcard has expired by the end of March - so they simply disabled the ads. NO EMAIL, NO CALL, NOTHING - they just disabled the ads!

This added to the bad experience, nevertheless I updated my credicard details and while I was at it, I adjusted the copy of two campaigns.

To my HUGE surprise, the changes went live only 6 hours later (instead of the 3-5 days advertised)!

So I decided to change some more copy and to add some keywords to campaigns. Again, those changes went live the next morning. Becoming bold, I created a completely new campaign, new copy, whole new list of keywords (one of them a competitors product name suggested by the keyword tool and nowhere to be found on the landing page). Half of it was granted within the same day, the second half but one keyword next day, and the last keyword (for what reason ever) this morning.

I have to admit that I am baffled! That is so contrary to anything I experienced with Overture before! It's ALMOST AdWords like :-)

Pmkpmk, thank you for sharing a positive experience with the Overture system, it has become quite rare in this forum. Hopefully everyone will see a positive change in the way their system is working.

Please keep us up to date with the way your account /settings are working.

I will be setting up and monitoring a new account, so I wil be able to give my two cents in the next week or so.

Has anyone else seen an improvement in the system?

Yahoo has been getting faster and faster over the past few months.

They did a large update a few months ago to the service offerings, and I've seen a much speedier system ever since.

Yesterday (on a Sunday) I opened an account (self-serve) and had listings live within 5 hours.

Today, I've already received another email with approved listings, and there's now just one listing that has not yet been approved. Not bad for a 24 hour period of time (and it's not yet 10am on the west coast yet).

In Germany it's still Overture though. Head office in Dublin, Ireland.
