Has anyone else noticed that the Overture ads are not showing up on MSN right now? All I am getting are ebay and Microsoft ads.

I'm not seeing any MSN ads at all in our sector and they were there a few days ago.

Just checked Yahoo for the same terms and they are showing duplicates of the ads to fill up the page. Most of mine are appearing twice. Also, as I live in South America, why are my US program ads being displayed here?

I've been seeing the same thing as far as geo-targeting is concerned. I've had clicks from Yahoo.com search with IPs from Italy.

Had a reply from Overture support recently as well to tell me a lot of their partners run US/Canada ads for International traffic i.e. no geo targeting. They also told me there's no way to stop this happening. So it's a case of like it or lump it.

Very disapointed to see no geo-targeting at Yahoo.com though. Something my support rep assured me is working fine. Which doesn't explain wny I'm getting visits from Italy and why you're seeing your ads in South America.

Is this the shape of Yahoo to come?

P.S. Something I did learn recently is that I'm a "Gold Advertiser" and have access to the "Gold Support Team". Anyone know what on earth that's all about? It's the first I've heard of it.

RE "Gold Advertiser"

I went to an Overture seminar about 18 months ago and learned that as I was spending over $500 a month I was a "Gold Advertiser", which meant that I could use the bulk upload and would get better customer service. I don't know if the bulk upload is available to everyone now, but whenever I have a question I usually have someone back to me within a few hours.

MSN has recently launched the pilot program of their own search ad service and are no longer showing Yahoo/Overture ads, from what I can tell. You may have seen about a 10% decrease in Overture traffic since then, all things equal (Oct 18th or so) and possibly a decline in conversion rate if MSN was one of your better converting sources. It was ours.

During the pilot program MSN is showing MSN ads 25% of the time, and Overture ads 75% of the time.

The dip in total traffic from Overture shouldn't be that high, unless you're pure b2b and were already doing most of your impressions on MSN.
