I just enabled the budgeting feature for a Yahoo/Overture account that I manage. It seemed like a handy feature....

Unfortunately, I didn't realize that in doing so, I was eliminating the ability to make one-time payments to this account. Now, Yahoo is attempting to automatically charge whatever credit card we have on file, and there seems to be no way to turn this so-called feature off!

I'm feeling rather duped by Yahoo, and their great budgeting feature.

I generally use my own company card for payments, and my clients pay me by check. Now, I don't dare use the company card because it will be automatically charged regardless of whether I receive payment from a client.

Yahoo's site says "I cannot go back". I'm awaiting official word from their rather bland support ticket system.

If I cannot go back... I won't be going back to Yahoo!

Anyone else run into this issue?

Thanks all!

same here, i feel cheated by yahoo.

i have emailed them how to stop this in future but there is no response as yet.

They have a minimum of $20 per month spending limit, which i was unaware of, and spend only $1 . and these guys deducted $20 ( $19 loss to me )

also they automatically deducted amount from my credit card .

i feel disgusted and cheated.

Is there any way i spend the amount i have with them now and get out of this program?

AdSense is 100 times more fair and less confusing than Yahoo Overture.

The $20 minimum is clear in their agreement with you (did you read it?). I wonder how much business you got off of the $1 you actually spent - that is an awfully big monthly budget. At optimum effectiveness, you got 10 whole clicks. Did it ever occur to you that the $20 minimum was designed to deal with accounts like yours?
