Overture Meltdown - Anyone keep a tally?

In light of the recent Overture Meltdown over the past few days, bids not being updated and various other weird account issues, I was wondering if anyone keeps track of how often this happens.

I recognize Google is not perfect, but it seems like on an almost monthly basis I spend a fair amount of time dealing with some Overture glitch. Whereas with Google the serious issues seem few and far between. Overture me alot of Microsoft. Big, profitable, but not that good at what they do.

Am I alone here?

No you are not alone.

I don't keep a diary of problems with Yahoo/Overture PPC, but a read through this forum gives a flavour of what has happened when problems have occurred.

Yeah, you are right. Overture has weird problems. Yesterday Jun 23 for example, we had sufficient funds in our overture account, the account was online, but our ads were not showing in the overture network. I kept checking yahoo and msn through out the day , but our ad listings were not showing. I tried offing and oning the account agian, changed the bids, kept pressing update button, but no use, ads were not displayed in overture network.

I signed up for Overture a few months ago with the promised "we will deposit $100 credit in your account". After putting in the $30 and then beginning to run it down, I was going to be billed again. No $100 deposit ever showed up! I couldn't contact them... the contact email addresses I located all resulted in returned mail. I shut down the account (ie: didn't fund it further)

Now I keep getting (5 so far!) postcards from Yahoo! Search Marketing with the same deal... so I thought *maybe* I'll give it a try.

Before I sign-up though I want to find out what is going on... my Overture account shows no sign of any previous history... no payments in ... no campaign history... nothing!

I'll get the same non-delivery on the promise with Yahoo! SM, right?

Serious, serious trouble. All this money into marketing it, but no communication and all these glitches I'm reading about.

I agree... they are going to be out of business soon or maybe even a class action lawsuit? You can't promise a $100 credit and not deliver on it.

Did anyone else receive this $100 credit in their account from Overture? Or the "new" Yahoo SM?

The thing that gets me is that even if you have an overture "rep" they never answer the phone, and they *might* get back to you. Incredibly frustrating.

They are really a bad company, and I think it is due to a constant drive for increasing revenue from the top. A drive that they can't meet by traditional (or wholly legitimate) means, so they cut corners and make "mistakes" that cost advertisers money. Plus I've never seen a big internet company with as close to as many system outages as they have.

Yes, I have also experienced quirky things with Yahoo! recently. The reporting has been odd and now this logging in issue. At this rate, I should definitely start keeping a record, but then what? It's nice to know I'm not alone in frustration.

FYI, I'll be the guy at SES attacking Overture/Yahoo Search Whatever execs randomly since it is 2pm PST Monday and I don't know of one person that's been able to login to Overture today.....

12 free drink tickets and I may forget about this Overture....
