Maybe thats a little to strong of a statement but when MSN comes out with their PPC which will be faster and better than overtures (not to mention reps that will actually be helpful), overture will see a significant drop in revenue.

Right now overture does not deliver alot of volume and their best partner, MSN.com, will soon be gone so quality will hit the toilet. The good news is that bids should adjust down with the decrease in quality, however bids in MSN will be artificially to high as advertiser runs to be number #1 until there is a market adjustment.

MSN wants market share not profits right now, everything they have come out lately has been a loss leader, xbox, msn music download (buy 1 song get 5 free!?), they like to be category killers and bless for that, the search engines will get a much needed kick in the pants to clean up their act and get serious in this business.

Overture service for us is far and away the best in the industry or any search related provider. Must be in the minority on that one. :) The only way advertisers will stop using Overture is if people stop using Yahoo to search.

The market is determined by where people search not what advertisers want. If you stop using Overture, then you stop getting sales from the unique market segments Overture reaches.

MSN has a long uphill climb ahead of it.

Plus, an inside source told me they won't even be beta testing it until '06.

Your inside source needs to go back and talk to the production team.

Skibum said it well, if you don't want Yahoo users, don't use Overture.

If you think Yahoo users might buy from your site, then take advantage of the system. There are ways of using the system in various ways, just like Google.

Its going to be interesting to see what happens here, MSN have mucked up big on more than one occassion so I dont see why you all seem to think theyll get it right from the start this time.

MSN did attempt to take on teh auction market and failed, I doubt if this will be such a dire failure but I think its going to be a major player for a number of years.

I think MSN is trying to do it right. Can't say much because of the NDA, but everything I am hearing from them is very positive. I think search ad managers are going to really like MSN.

Thumbs up here for O.

Some terms I'd like live a bit faster but other than that, they have been the best from every aspect to work with.
