#1 spot gets #1 on right side also

Today when I search my term on Yahoo, I'm seeing that I'm #1 up top, and also #1 over on the right side.

Previously, the #4 spot was showing up on the top right spot, and that same #4 spot would show at the bottom of the serps.

It's the same for the top 3 spots. #2 on top is #2 on the right side, etc.

Must be glitch or your term doesn't have much competition on it. Because it's NOT the case that #1 is also #4.

Not a glitch. It's showing up for very competitive terms. If I type in REAL ESTATE it shows.

It could be geographic. Also, I will try clearing my cookies and see what happens.

Also I didn't mean to say that the #1 is the #4. What I mean is that the right side is now a mirror of the top of the serp sponsored listings. The #4 and #5 are now down at the bottom of the serps.

Anyone else seeing it?

Just deleted my cookies, and it's gone. Not doing it anymore. But, it was interesting to see it that way.

I like it, I hope it comes back for good. I didn't like that my competition could bid as low as #4 and still show on the top of the page (even if it was the right side).

Like I said a glitch or user error.

or a test

Test would equal a 'glitch' in my book. Bottom line is that what you reported isn't happening anymore, it was a fluke, a 'test' or adserving issue. It wasn't intentional.

If it was a test it would be intentional. Google has been known to show different designs through cookies to test the performance of a new look before they make it completely live. I think it was about 2 years ago when they changed their look to what it is now. People put the cookie code on the web and you could add it to your browser and get the same results.

Amazon recently did the same thing with their design. I think any time you have a high volume site you need to A/B test it before making any design changes completely live.

Yeah, something akin to what Google was recently doing.
