Do they credit the credit card back or do they send a check?

Why not just write them and ask.

If it's not a large amount you would probably be best to just let it run out and then send them an e-mail requesting that your account be closed.

Don't forget that there is a minimum monthly charge of US$25 in the US, £20 in the UK and Euros 25 in Germany.

You would probably only get back an amount in excess of that.

I already asked them, I just wanted an answer before getting a reply from them in a couple of weeks.

They keep removing my ad when my competitors are using the same marketing technique. After weeks of talks, they are still clueless. I requested to close my account and I want my money back. I will now focus with Adwords, Findwhat and 7search. Where they actually listen to their clients.

Yes, but the rest is in their bank accounts right now, that's still a valid reason to ask for a refund. Trust me.

How did you contact them? I can't seem to find a way to get a hold of Overture to cancel my account. Actually, I don't want to really cancel it. I just want to put it on hold since the item i'm advertising is a Vacation home. The home is currently 100% booked and there is no need to be spending any more money right now on Overture.

Does anyone know if they will just suspend your account and if no one knows ... does anyone know how to contact them?

I had the exact same problem as you. God, does Overture/Yahoo suck. They kept rejecting my ad for reasons that seemed really wrong and unnecessary. Finally, I just gave up. It took me -- are you ready -- almost two years to get these idiots to give me my refund. And they refused to refund me the entire amount that was due. Apparently, during the 18 months that it took them to finally respond to my queries their terms of service changed. Even though their customer service reps said they'd refund me the full amount -- I have those emails still -- they didn't do it. They are crooks. They don't know how to run a business like human beings.
