First off I use Overture and CJ. I bid on keywords and link directly through CJ to affiliate sites. I understand the process of cookies and time stamp/duration and how I would receive commission for making a sale. My question is: If I had my own website promoting widgits and someone clicks through I make a commission. Now they set my site as a favorite and purchase something and cookie is 90 days. Cookie is dead for the rest of the 90 days? If they come back to my website again in say 10 days and link through again to make a purchase. Did they get a new cookie? Will I receive commission from same buyer a second time?
I guess my main question is if I develop a customer base that keeps coming back to my website to make purchases at affiliate websites am I going to make money every time or just once? I may going about this all wrong. BTW I spend on average $200 a month on keywords and make $400 - $500 so I am hitting some nice keywords/pay outs.
