Last Monday I spoke with my boss and we decided to pay the rediculous $200 to set up an account so that we could be bumped to the 'top' of the editorial review sheet. I called in to Overture to let them know my situation (creating a duplicate account as our SEM vendor has to my new in house account). As of Friday I had not recieved anything back from them, even to say 'We're running behind", so I emailed the rep I had spoken with... nothing. I left a voicemail this morning... nothing. We're firing our SEM later this week and i expressed in my first call, email and second call that I NEED to have this set up ASAP.

Why am I paying them $200 again? Has this happened to anyone else?

Ok, so I got a reply to my account request, the keywords I sent were 28 that have been used for over a year from our current SEM vendor... my response 'estimate' included over 240 keywords for $11,000+ a month.

Is this attempt at gouging common when using FastTrack service?

Yes, the fast track method is a waste. Having them set you up with keywords which are usually incredibly vague and won't convert well. Of course, they'll want you in the #1 position for all your keywords.

Sigh, I was afraid of that... they got back to me that they thought i had a $15,000 budget instead of $1,500. On the upside i have a crapload of new keyword research i didn't have to do. I just find it highly amusing!

Hey Elizabeth,

Sorry for the confusing experience. I would like to make sure everyone knows what the Fast Track program provides.

Fast Track is designed to help advertisers build out their creative and keyword inventory by paying a fee to have our editors do it for them. The three day turnaround referenced on this page (http://www.content.overture.com/d/USm/ays/choose.jhtml) is in regards to obtaining the proposal (ie search word selection, title & description, budgeting, etc.) as opposed to getting your existing search terms online faster.

Based on your posting, sounds like you got a list of suggested key words and budget as outlined by having enlisted in the Fast Track program.

If you have additional questions, feel free to private mail me questions.
