Content Match Served 16 Mil Imps/3,000Hits/$900 in a Week?

I'm having trouble believing this. Anyone else suspicious?

I turned Content Match on for a campaign that had the term "beach family vacation". Granted this covers a lot of popular territory, but it accounted for 1/3 of all my traffic to this site in one week. I'm calling Overture to inquire.

Anyone else have such experiences recently or even not recently?

How did you rectify it?

Thanks

Content Match is quite risky; you can get a ton of traffic 'out of nowhere' at any time. Be VERY careful all.

I spoke to an Overture rep late Friday and she admitted that it was an unusually large amount of impressions/traffic.

However, Buyer Beware!

Read the Content Match description provided by Overture (if you can find it) and you'll see that the potential for matches to not-very-targeted-content is very high.

Content match can be crazy.

I do it for branding and with specific keywords i can probably burn through 900 bucks in a matter of minutes.

(especially if the content site is CNN and the news item correlates to your keywords/target)

I happen to be inthe rental business ( vacations mostly ) and those words would give you a ton of traffic. you really needed to fine tune it a bit more with a state or city, then you would have had more qualified traffic.

I have never used content matching services before, so I might be thinking incorrectly.

could someone post a link so that I can review it better.
