Bogus overture clicks

Hi all,

I just got a bunch of clicks through from overture, all with the same IP (81.154.140.27), user agent (Mozilla/3.0 (compatible)), but each using a different keyword.

Can anyone shed some light on the probable story behind this? Is it some kind of spider? And more importantly, do you suppose this is costing me money?!

And if so, is there anything I can do about it? I've just fired off an e-mail to overture, so I'll see what they say. I guess it could just be some script on their end testing their links for validity.

This could verywell be just an unintentional rogue spider, or it could be a malicious act.

Since they are from the same IP, not likely that overture didn't catch them, but check your stats for a spike. You should get a response from overture.

(might also want to check to see if it wasn't someone using the bid tool, which won't cost you).

Thanks for the info. Still no response back from overture, but from their FAQs and what you've said, I'm guessing I won't get charged, which is my primary concern!
