From what I can tell, unlike Google they have no GEO-Targeting. So lets say I want a generic finacial term like Financial Planning. Financial Planning gets searched for probably 50,000 times a month. Likely 40k in the US and 10K in Canada. Obviously, being a Canadian I only want the Canadian clicks. Unlike Google, Overture does not have the technology to just serve my ads to Canadians. OK I understand that, so I try to buy the keywords "Financial Planning" then in the description put "A Canadian Guide". Denied. I can only by "Canadian Financial Planning".
This in my opinion is just amateurish. Our plan was to diversify and spend $5000 a month on Overture even though I new I would not get the same results as Google because of the lack of GEO Targeting but I figured it would still work for me if I put Canadian in the description.
Calling their customer services was just as useless I found them to be ignorant and defensive. Guess they don't want $5k a month in revenue.
