Overtur Yahoo Problem

Shut out of Yahoo

Overture provides a listing showing the approximate location of a listing of a particular search term when found by a search engine. For example, "diving asia", which could be #1, #2 #3 .......#n.

I checked a number of my key keyword listing on Yahoo that should fall within the top 6 rankings. None appeared within the first 120 rankings!

In fact, we seem almost completely shut out of Yahoo, when we have been in fact registered at Yahoo for around ten years.

Anyone experience similar problems? Are you checking your rankings, that is, where Overture claims that should rank, and the actual rankings? I'm really puzzled.

I'm trying to contact Overture direct to find out what's going on. If anyone has a contact email address or telephone number to overture, please send.

Thanks

I posted the original message about the Yahoo problem. I've since found an answer direct from Overture.

Evidently, Oveture preferred listings on Yahoo search engine pages are valid only in the US and Canada. If you are located abroad (we are in Thailand), tough luck.

Anyone know how we can go worldwide on Yahoo? I'm looking into it and if I learn anything I'll post it here.

I think you would have to go to the sponsored search provider for each country you want to be represented in. Even then I think Overture will only allow you to bid in countries where you have an office.

You just have to open a new account and specify which country you want the keywords to show up in.

You don't have to have an office in the country you want to advertise in. Our company is strictly US only and I opened a UK Overture account a couple weeks ago and now I show up on Yahoo.co.uk.
