Overture PPC Listing on MSN

Some ads showing up above the natural serps

I am seeing one of my Overture ads showing up as a sponsored listing above the "natural" serps instead of the usual right hand box. I do not know why this ad was promoted. I have other ads that have higher position, CTR and monthly cost that are still in the right hand box area.

Anyone else seen their ads above the serps? Anyone have any idea of the critera for promotion to this area?

In the UK at least, this has always happened except when the nuber of searches on a phrase is small OR when MSN has specific direct deals with large third party sites (Featured sites) that sometimes stop sponsored listing above natural serps.

In the main, though, I always expect two or three Overture listings there... two more at the bottom, and some more on the right hand side.

Something very special at MSN and other places, if you peel back the onion a bit........courtesy of Overture, surprised nobody has picked up on it and I am not about to divulge, but this is a serious WOW.
