Now the stats are on Overture we have certainly seen an increase in clicks, and also a big increase in CTR.
At the lower end of the scale it's about 10% higher, the majority are 20-30% higher and high end of the scale is 60% higher.
Espotting who lost the UK results are only down marginally in some cases, so have probably hedged better than some would have thought.
Conversion rates we are still analysing and comparing to previous Thursday's results.
Clicks: Not much changed
CPC: Not much changed
ROI: WAY DOWN!
In fact - Overture UK has gone from profit to loss for us - with the changeover point being around 30th.
Seems to be a "quality of traffic" issue for us.
Overture's greed increasing the minimum bids earlier in the year might be coming back to haunt them - there's so little margin left now that any change like this can tip things into loss.
We're looking at dropping bids until it becomes profitable again - might take quite a big drop by the figures we're seeing. Of course that'll have an impact on the volume of business we can do - but who cares - what use is volume without profit?
Never mind Overture - we only spend $20,000 per month with you - you probably won't miss us. But it might sting a bit if if everyone else is in the same boat.....
I had always assumed that Espotting's biggest partner provided their best quality traffic. Do we have comparative numbers for Espotting since the switch? Has it improved the ROI?
