I'm sure I've done it correctly, but I can't get phrase/broad matching working! I've edited all my search terms and turned on phrase/broad matching, but they don't seems to be appearing against searches I have done.

I originally was bidding on the term "widget" and have now turned on the phrase/broad matching against that term. Am I correct in expecting my ad to appear against a search for "widget uk"? Well it's not appearing!

Or do I have to wait for Overture to approve the fact that I've turned it on?

Hi
While I am able to change the match type options for some search terms the tool does not allow me to change for others. Is it related to minimum # of searches being done?

Hi Sarah,

Do you mean that for some terms you can't enable the 'Broad' match type? If you do, this is probably because your search term needs to consist of more than one word to use this match type. Phrase match in that case will do the same job.

That said, even though I've enabled it on all my search terms, I'm still not showing up in searches. I've emailed Overture support, so I'll let you know if I get an answer.

Jonathan.

It seems like broad and phrase matching hasn't been enabled on all of Overture's UK partners yet, which is why I thought it wasn't working. It does appear to be working on www.lycos.co.uk though...

We tried to activate "phrase match" on the two different names of our area - both two word phrases.

Over allowed phrase match on the Spanish version but not on the English version.
