The traffic for overture drying up. Is this affecting anyone else, have they lost more partners?

We all know they can take days to get approval, approvals are arbitrary and in contradication many times with their own relevancy policy.

Tell me I'm not alone in this!

I used to think I was doing something wrong and then my peers started calling on certain days and asking about business so I think everyone experiences surges and lulls together (in a field of business).

My business is connected to airline fares and when there is a special I definitly receive more calls and none when fares are full price... Everyone is a shopper these days. Look at the general conditions effecting your services. There is more to managing your ads then you think... helpful information at the right time can make the business you do get stick. Or rewriting your ads when they get old. If you do a few a day they cycle around through the approval process and you get a flow going. Its hard work doing advertising.

You're not alone. I've noticed Overture traffic has trended down for me over the last month or so, while I've maintained KW positions pretty consistently. Could be late summer travel and the upcoming holiday...

For us traffic always falls off in August. Wait till the holiday weekend is over in the US & Canada and I think you will see it pick-up again.

Our traffic for Overture this month is about 10% higher than last month. Although, I've noticed that not only do certain industries have lulls (ours are December/January as we're not retail), that search engines seem to have the same thing. But if one search engine is having a lull, then another is probaby having a surge, so adjust your advertising accordingly. And never forget, an article run by a major paper, tv news, web newsletter, or a new press release by your company, can dramatically change your search results for a single month.

If you're receiving a lull in traffic, there is generaly a way to correct it through PR means.
