Mehdi said MSN has no plans to end its agreement with Overture, which is slated to provide sponsored text listings within MSN search results through 2004. But he added that in the long term, the portal will consider building its own commercial search operation.

not sure all the comments in there are true though, especially the bit about Overture paying MSN $50 million if they are bought out, was under the impression that about $64 million if Overture do NOT go through with the buyout from Yahoo...

but, hey what do I know.

Longhorn, the new OS, will be released in Beta version in 2004. So we'll have our first glimpse of the browser/search interface then.
