listings.altavista.com -> from where?

obviously this traffic is different from www.av.com... how?

does anyone know where the listings.altavista.com traffic is coming from?

as most of you know, while www.altavista.com is only showing 3 GoTo listings at the bottom of the page, listings.altavista.com is showing 5, right at the top.

which channel defaults to these search results? i know its out there, cuz i'm getting traffic from it. my guess is its affiliate traffic or browser traffic or something like it... anyone know?

Well, I found one way you can surf on the listings.altavista.com part of the site. After you do a search on www.altavista.com, at the very bottom where you found the Goto stuff, you can also hit "More Sponsored Listings". Once you do that, it'll send you to that "listings" part of the third level domain and it'll keep you there if you do a new search from there.
