I know that they cover different search engines as their partners but I promote a generic job board across the web and at the moment we use overture and we are just about to start using adwords on google. We have been advised to use both Overture and Espotting, but looking at the ROI we are getting from overture I think we would be risking a high spend from my already limited online marketing budget for very little return....

Anyone with advice or tales of problems with any of the above?

I would at least try Espotting as there is usually a lower cost per click than Overture. Also, they have distribution with Yahoo UK.

GoogleAdwords CPC is very expensive compared to Overture and Espotting. If you have limited Budget I advice you go for Espotting. I just suspended most of my GoogleAd words Campaigns because it was costing us too much.

Am seriously considering dropping overture:

I have developed a tracking system for my links myself and the results from my clicks don't match what overture says....

One suggestion is to plug your search terms into their word suggestion tools. I quickly found that my target audience does not use espotting.

GoogleAdwords CPC is very expensive compared to Overture and Espotting.

It varies according to sector, we have many instances where Google will be cheaper, equally we will have instances where Espotting will give the best ROI when comparing like for like (in as far as you can compare).

There are way too many anomalies for advice to be given definitively for your sector, sometimes you need to try things for yourself.

We are using adwords, some keywords are pricy, just choose those cost less, just less traffic. Oh well.

Just to agree with other comemnts that for some keywords, adwords is just not competitive with OV.

In our case, the expensive ones are highly targeted phrases which include a popular word as one of them. Basically you pay what the most popular word is in the phrase, even though you may be targeting a much lower value market with the phrase as a whole.

This is a built-in but highly frustrating element of the way Adwords calculates CPC.
