Which market will my listings show to?

How to target the market

I'm planning to give overture a try. Before actually setting up a ppc account, I think it'd be better to ask for some advice from you experts.

My concern is which market my listings will show to.

If I select "United States" on the sign up page of Overture, it means that my listings can only be seen by searchers located in the US; and if I choose "United Kingdom", "Germany", "France", "Japan", "Korea", my listings will only be shown to searchers in those countries. Is that true?

What should I do if I want to target, say the asian market, or the international market as a whole?

Any help will be appreciated.

Further questions:

I've only got an English site. If I want to target Japanese market, do I have to put up a Japanese version of webpages? And the listing info (titles and descriptions) will be required to be written in Japanese too?

Signing up on local Overtures only promotes your keywords in the respective local markets. Bids on English keywords in the US will not show up in Japan. You have to apply to the local Overtures separately, but you can use the same advertiser control panel to maintain these accounts.

You can target the Japanese market with an English page bidding on English keywords via Overture Japan. You probably won't get overwhelmed with traffic though ;) I would suggest Japanese language content and Japanese language keywords if you really want business from here.

Thanks bill for the helpful input.

This my first time with Overture. After signing up my first Overture account, I got an impression that it's much more straightforward to set up a Google Adwords account, especially when you want to target the international market as a whold.

I also am about to start a first campaign with Overture. Can I limit my market exposure to only one state in the US?
