The deal calls for Overture to provide paid listings through MSN Search Pane and MSN's site in Korea. The Search Pane deal last until December 2003; the MSN site deal expires in December 2004.

With MSN sewed up in Korea, Overture has a solid footprint for its official launch there in the next few months. Earlier this year, Overture signed a three-year deal with Daum Communications, which runs the top portal in Korea, to use its paid listings. These two deals, combined with a pact with Dreamwiz, would give it a reach 92 percent in the Korean market, Overture said.

Congradulations for the linkage between the two. Now its time for me to research if it would be worth it to setup a copy of my page in korean that sells the items and list it with overture msn korea search results, or any search engine.

Right now all my sites are english but I dont get to really benifit from all these International connections. :)

well....you better be sure its worth it because first time registration for Overture Korea requires a KRW200,000 deposit (about $180)! Minimum bidding starts at KRW200 (about 16 cents).

Perhaps its not as much if you already have an Overture account and just wish to add the Korean market, but that is a big bite for the Korean market to swallow for an undeveloped PPC market. Given that Zingu (www.Zingu.com) is offering a free first-time registation of KRW25,000 (about $20--no credit card required) and a minimum bid of KRW50 (about 4cents), I wonder if that's going to slow their market adoption (even with their major portal affiliates).

time will tell...I am rooting for the little Zingu.com guys. OVERbearingTURE is beginning to bug me.
