Is it possible to "pause" your overture campaign, like you can Awords? The ads aren't converting to sales, but the CT is only down 10%.

I'd like to save my small ad budget till things stabilize, any ideas on how to do it short of deleting all my ads.

Have you tried dropping all of your bids to the minimum? That may slow your clicks to a crawl (depending on your terms). Of course, the minimum is now twice what it was a month or so ago...

If you email their customer service, they will take your ads offline for you. Then you just email them when you want them back up.

We've done it a few times when our site was going to be down for upgrades.

If you are on CC billing you can change to manual and let the funds run out if you don't want to use account services.

thanks all, hannamyluv's suggestion is the most appropriate action for our situation. Overture has replied to our request and confirmed that they would indeed manually pause the ads.

I cant believe they dont allow the user the control of pausing/unpausing campaigns at will through their interface.

One would think that it would be a good feature to have. I have seasonal products that only run at certain times of the year. It is a bit of a pain to delete the whole keyword group only to put it back up in a few months.

I think the problem of the pause/resume feature is it paves the way for the occasional advertiser, or the 9-5ers.

There will obviously be reasons when it would be beneficial to pause (like technical ones) or the seasonal stuff, saves re-keying stuff and wasting editorial time.

I have spoke to an overture rep on the phone and all you have to do is call them and ask them to pause it. You could email them but I hate waiting for them to do it - if you call they will do it while your on the phone.

sure, but why not empower your customers? it just seems like a hassle for a company thats so big, they should definitely be allowing far more control of your PPC campaigns.

and whats wrong with the 9-5ers?
