I have a question concerning overture keywords on MSN.

I have a large amount of kerwords on overture. Some are words, others are model numbers of equipment.

I noticed today that my model numbers are not appearing on MSN, although my other keywords are.

I understand that some search engines rearrange the overture results, but i do not understand why msn is not showing them at all.

Any clue?

Hi weblamer2

I think I know the answer as I've seen this behavoir a while back. If there is only one bidder for a specific term, MSN will not show the sponsored sites at the top of its results for that term. It will just have directory sites or web matches first.

If you're bidding on model numbers, it's probable you're the only one bidding right? It's a bit harsh for MSN to disclude you for this, but it does stop sites 'doing an EBay' and sponsoring every term!

That's my theory anyway.

I think it's based on the numbers of searches for a particular term. If the term is popular it will show up on MSN too.

I have terms with more than one bidder that don't show up. Mind you, I have VERY popular terms that don't show up for some reason too...

I emailed Overture (UK) about this a couple of days ago - the reply I got back was that it can take time for MSN to approve new keywords, up to three weeks.

A couple of the terms concerned I've been waiting for for more than three weeks, all with more than one bidder. Make of that what you will...
