Is this what you pay for?

I assume there are many people out there who are paying overture as much as US$ 50.00 per click, while US$ 10.00 per click is not uncommon.

But my concern is this [appliedsemantics.com...] what clients are paying for?

There are tons and tons of domains names that are affilaite of these company and have their page for dead links,, and these companie/s get results from overture (from what I see).

So next time, you might wanna think before thinking that where the *so called* overture visitors coming from.

i really hate this kind of pages. seen so many, often armed with pop-ups all over. won't think you can gather revenue out of this pages.

Parked domains and professional domain mongers who serve up PPC trash are less relevant than pop-ups & pop-unders. The public just disregards that stuff.

imo

won't think you can gather revenue out of this pages.

Just yesterday I talked with one person, who made an average of US$ 5000.00 + per domain in 2002. This income is from having the domain parked there, and he is in a way just an affialite.

Do you know that some well known registerar have those type of pages as parked pages? think about how much it ends up costing the website owners who thinks they are actually getting hits from search results.

I've received emails from FindWhat asking if we had any dead domains they could use like this. I've never received an Overture solicitation like that though.

from what I see, Overture has ties with other companies that provides parking page and domain registrar .. so overture can stay clean and not have to contact domain owners.... but this is just what I think ;)

p.s... you see one can get more domains(parked pages) by doing partnership with registrar rather then contacting each domian owner individually.

I'm sure that if people weren't making money then it wouldn't be as popular.

It's still about bottom line ROI, regardless of the source of the traffic, if the visitor spends money and you as the advertiser make some, aren't those the important things?

Overture, Google etc.. are just brokers for traffic, satisfying the supply and demand, introducing those that can supply with those that demand for a fee. If you don't like the quality, then you chose not to use them, if enough people say the same thing them the brokers will drop the suppliers from their portfolio.

I'm more bothered by the margineers.
