Looksmart Ranking Question

#7 on LS but #100 on MSN?

Hello all. I was wondering if someone could clear up how MSN ranks its directory listings. I rank #7 on Looksmart search for "widget" but when i search on MSN i come in at #100 (ouch).

Its wierd, my site will move up to #30 in MSN for a week or so (and that gets some good traffic believe it or not) and then drop again to 100+. It has jumped to 30 and then dropped 2 times now since i listed it about 2 months ago.

So what gives with this? Is there any method to the MSN madness? Why am I on looksmart at 7 and MSN at 100? Any input is appreciated.

Your listings on Looksmart obviously are getting a higher position due to Wisenut ranking your site for relevancy on the Looksmart site.

Looksmart are slowly integrating Wisenut throughout its index and your site is responding to a higher relevancy then others on Looksmart.

Might be worth checking your site on About.com and Infospace too as they are now using the results generated by Wisenut.

MSN use their own relevancy matching although i am led to believe MSN are in some deep talks with LOOK about Wisenut.
