Pay Per Click in USA

how different from the UK PPC market

Having mainly concentrated on the UK market in the past, I am a bit out of touch with the whole USA PPC scene.

Is it similar to the UK, where Overture is the big player, followed by Espotting etc, or do players such as Sprinks and Kanoodle have much market share?

The reason I ask is that I hear and see of so many USA PPC companies, that I am not sure who handles what market best,

eg: B2b > B2c

I can only assume that Overture is the Daddy, but how much traffic can be expected from the others, and furthermore what others should be AVOIDED.

any advice or statistics would be greatly appreciated.

There are not many PPC companies...........there are many paid inclusion and paid placement but a few PPC.

Looksmart would be the largest with the best distribution for pure PPC........

In my opinion Overture is the biggest one and after him there are some little players such as Findwhat, Kanoodle, Sprinks. I'd recommend not to use Findwhat and Kanoodle and to pay attention at Sprinks ( too many fraudolent clicks ).

IMO Google AdWords gets you worldwide coverage at mostly reasonable costs.

I forgot to mention it!
It's right what you say but it strongly depends on your market field, it could be really expensive with Google Adwords since it's not a real PPC.

Shakil,

Overture is by far and away the biggest and best provider. Google Adwords Select as has bene pointed out will give you good penetration, but I'd strongly advise using negative keywords a lot if you planned on advertising over there.

Those are the two main players and if you only did those you would do quite well.

However, others that can be used, but we'd recommmend tracking every click because there is a tendency for click spam the following providers (in no order of preference.... will give varying degrees of success, depending on industry)

Sprinks, Kanoodle (the US equivalent of Espotting), ah-ha, FindWhat, Looksmart (regardless of whether people complain about the value, or ethics of the way it is done), 7search, Xuppa and ePilot

Hope that helps.
