does anyone know why the results for some search terms show up in the "sponsored sites" section of yahoo, but not in msn?

i assumed ov was feeding these results directly to msn, but when i check for my search terms, i see no "sponsored sites" in msn: only the directory and web pages results for others sites.

any ideas why?

thanks!

It has been like that for some time. I think you can see the Overture listings by searching from the IE browser.

There was a thread here in the last couple of months concerning this issue if you want to nail down a date for the switch.

Here are some earlier threads on this subject

I asked for an explanation from Overture, but never received a response.

Another possible explanation - could it be related to the fact you are NOT in the MSN target area. What I mean by that is that IP selection is delivering different SERPs.

Either way, why bid for something that will not show in the SERPs. It's not quite "reaching 80%" of the audience. ;)

i was playing around with this the other day for overture UK and MSN UK. it looks like MSN UK will only show overture UK listings where there are 3 or more bids over £1.00 each.

it looks like it's fully automated and instant - if there are only 2 bids over £1.00 per click, then MSN UK doesn't show overture UK listings, but as soon as you add the 3rd bid over £1.00, all 3 show up in MSN UK.

perhaps others can check this out and check what happens on overture.com / MSN.com as well?

Overture told me that only commercial terms are accepted by MSN and that they are being added slowly.

I submitted my commercial terms to Overture to pass along to MSN, but I still do not see them coming up.

MSN has proved to be the hardest nut to crack with paid listings OR with regular listings.
