google adwords select - minimum click-thru

i currently have a lot of keywords on google's program

they mostly deal with movies and titles ... only problem i have
is that it doesn't meet google's 1000 impressions and X percent
click-thru.

any ideas on how to be rid of this? should i create different
campaigns within the same account? (doesn't it cost $5 to start/restart each campaign though?).

limiting the number of keywords doesn't help because then i will
get way less clicks with each removal (etc) ...

tia.

Wooaah! No! It doesn't cost $5 to start a new campaign. The $5 is only the setup fee for your login name.

To solve your minimum CTR problem, you should read "Optimize your campaign performance with AdWords Select!" atleast twice!

Give special attention to -
Optimize your content and keyword targeting
Content - What should your Ad say?

You can instantly achieve 1% plus CTR if you include the keyword in the title and the body of the ad. Follow more tips (create adgroups for each keyword, for example) and soon you will be getting 5% plus CTR!

For adwords too, you can also increase your CTR by making use of the "" and the []. The quotes will only let your keywords appear if someone types in a phrase that has all of those keywords in it in that order. The brackets will make it so your ad will only appear if they type in that exact phrase. It helps you to keep your ad from appearing under irrelevant searches.

As I understand it... For example, right now if you are advertising under the keyword The Scorpion King, without quotes or brackets your ad could possibly be coming up if anyone types in a phrase with the words King and Scorpion (okay so how often does that happen, but with other movie titles, it probably happens a lot).

If you put it in quotes, a person would have to have to put The Scorpion King but your ad would still come up if they put The Scorpion King Movie.

The brackets would make it so that your ad will only come up if they type only The Scorpion King.

Oh yeah, you can also reactivate shut down keywords by going in and editing the ad and the keywords. If you have to do it 3 times, that is when you get charged the 5 dollar fee.

Read section #4 of the optimization reference on google for more info.
