You might want to ask this question on a Japanese, Chinese or Korean speaking website. If I wanted an Asian Internet Marketing expert, the first thing I would look for is if they speak the language.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld fitze.

We have many threads talking about this very topic right here. The three markets you are asking about are unique and each has different characteristics.

You entitled this thread "paid search". Could you elaborate a bit on what you're looking to do? Are you interested in PPC and advertising, or paying someone to help your sites rank in these areas? If you have some specific questions we have plenty of people here with experience in Asia who can probably help you out.

Hi bill.

Thanks for your help.

I am especially looking at the volume of paid search in the markets. Do all the engines offer paid search? How educated is the market about keyword advertising? How many agencies are in the markets running keyword campaigns for their advertisers? Do they use any sophisticated bid management tools as an interface between all the engines?

These kind of topics really interest me.

Kind regards

Fritz

PS Are you the bill that I had email conatct with?

to add that: My target is to understand the market and find out about the market potential of sophisticated bid management tools.

I have no idea of Japan and Korea markets. In China, when it comes to paid search market, you are advised to consider the following leading market players:

1) Google.com.cn (Do I need to say anything more? :P)
2) baidu.com (A Google-style Chinese searching engine)
3) 3721.com (a notorious company in China; but it is very successful in business. Customers purchase keywords in Chinese. When users input Chinese in IE address bar, he will be leaded to advertiser's website)

You can select to ignore other players in China at this time.

Do Baidu and 3721 offer sponsored links as we are used to that from overture and Google?
Do you know agencies that offer to manage PPC campaigns?

Thanks for your help.

Yes, Most of Chinese search engine offer pay per click service, they simply copy the idea from google adword(or actually from overtures), the more you pay, the higher you get.

3721 is a very special thing in China. It is real name service.

that is interesting.

So are there agencies that offer to manage those PPC campaigns or do advertisers do that inhouse? Can you name a few big ones?
what kind of tools do they use to manage the bid campaign?

cheers

No big player so far. <snip> They use human beings :) Wage is low in China. One SEO company, one of the four google authorized adwords resellers in China, hires freshmen with monthly salary about 100-150 USD.
