i'm planning to register a new domain name (have 4 registered with different registrars). If a reseller creates 'problems' , is it easy to deal with foreign registrars compared to Directi and get the matter sorted out.
any feedback will be appreciated

caran1, what sort of problems are you thinking of? I'm assuming that you're based in India, so foreign would be any registrar outside that country. I think it really depends on which domains you're registering. Some domains are only offered locally or by local registrars. My .in domains all are registered through a company in India. I've got .cn domains registered through companies in China and the US. I've got .com domains through various companies throughout the world. Dealing with each registrar is usually quite straightforward, but I don't think I could recommend any one country's registrars over another.

when I wanted to shift hosting for two of my websites (their servers were down everyday and I lost a lot of money ),the reseller refused to give me control panel access. Fortunately the domain was registered with directI and after some followup/phone calls to DirectI, i was able to get access. I have another website registered with Network Solutions (through a reseller) and I am told they do not give control panel access to domain name holders ,the email in whois is that of the reseller. I wish to pay in Indian rupees by check but want full control over domain name, since i spend a substantial amount of time developing my websites . All the websites are .com domains
