Hello,

I recently was looking for a business directory
for the country of Saudi Arabia. I did not find anything (like yahoo, or lycos), only a few badly
maintained (outdated) link lists.

Have the Saudi's not discovered the internet yet,
or are they just not organised yet?

I received an unsolicited request to sign up for one called G-com recently. It looks pretty new, and there's no search function, but it's supposedly focused on the Gulf region.

Hi Skirril,

here's a few that come to mind.

4 Arabs - Saudi Araiba
Web Guide Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia Seek
Arabji - Saudi

Does this help?

Yes, it helps.

Thanks a lot.

I dont know, but perhaps the forum should be split into:

a) Middle East /Arabic World
b) Asia and Far east
c) Oceania

or the title be changed as to reflect the scope..

This might help you to locate Saudi Arabian directories:
[db.alba36.com...]

As to splitting down the Asian forum, I am sure that will happen, but it will probably be in a year or two. At this time, there simply aren't enough members from Asia to maintain meaningful discussions in separate fora. Woz - who is sound asleep right now - is preparing some great overviews over his vast realm and they will be split up in much the way you suggest. We can expect them soon - it is a massive piece of research he is doing.

PS. Skirril: Did you ever find the Switzerland discussion you asked about some time back? It is right here [webmasterworld.com].
