In case anyone hasn't heard, Google has dropped every .com.au from its index.

Do an allinurl:.com.au

Ouch! I can't see .com.au sites in Google from Japan either. I know a few people who aren't going to be too happy with this.

Why did they do that?
allinurl:.com.ru
brings up 876,000 results.

The problem has been fixed. I can only speculate that someone in the Manual Deletion Department got distracted and deleted .com.au. :)

Added: Some data centres are still not showing .com.au but this must be a record for the fastest rollback.

Geez - I wonder why they picked on us?

[google.com.au...] was funny - deleting the entire .com.au domain space from the Google index was just scary......

I hope the rest of the world was watching - multinational corporations often use Australia as a test market for new products...
