Regardless, I'm interested to see how this Korean desktop search pans out.
Are any of the tools from Google, Yahoo or Microsoft localized for the Korean market yet? Is this the first local effort?
yahoo and google both haave one, but I've never used em actually. (msn probably does too). Don't think they are very popular in any case. really don't know. the rankey one was pretty popular at one point.
didn't think it was THAT big a deal but here are more articles:

taking a more "kill the foreign competitors" slant. +_+
but anyway.....
I have heard that the yahoo effort doesn't handle Chinese very well. Grendel, is this one targeted specifically at the Korean Market or for more genberal use?
targeted for korea.
I tried installing it but ran into problems and didnt bother to figure out what the problem is yet.
I'll try again later. ;)

omg I totally brainfarted when I posted that.... NO. they don't have one as far as I know. (I was thinking browser toolbar like somekinda of search NOOB -- lol. DOH! SMACK! sheesh, if I'm makin mistakes like that...I really need to some sleep. +_+;;; lol))
anyway.... I think Naver is the first portal here for a comprehensive KOREAN Desktop search tool. Big G's will work of course...but its not a "korean version".
eitherway...the locals portals (namely, NHN and Daum) continue to know how to keep a hold on this market. (I'm still trying to get my head around Daum's new "Woggle" search. o_O)...
I'll look around..I really haven't been paying attention to this part of the market out here too much.
