Rumor of Zhongsou.com takeover

Rumor has it [chinatechnews.com] that Sina may be looking to take over Zhongsou.com...but I'm not seeing much in the English press yet.

Sina has always been somewhat like Yahoo. They started out with a portal/directory and have used various search providers to power them. They've used Baidu, Huicong and most recently Zhongsou. Sina has quite a large network in place, so they may be looking to the recent Yahoo take-overs in the US as a model. However, we'll have to wait as none of this is official news yet.

Sina does have some web results powered by Google. Although I don't know all the details of the Sina-Zhongsou relationship, I do remember that they were powering some parts of the Sina search. This may be the technology used to search their default web search. I only see Google results on Sina for certain searches if I look at the "complete website" tab. Google does not appear to power all of the searches at Sina.

zhongsou has denied the takeover several days before. It seems no tureover will happen.

Sorry that i can not provide you with the English artice on this takeover rumor currently. The rumor was spread wide in portal sites such as sohu,chinabyte etc.
The related parties denied it to the press.
