Google Dominate 10 countries

What about Japan and China?

Google is available in 104 languages, from Arabic to Korean to Zulu, and has offices in 13 nations.
However, Asia is an entirely different story. The company was No. 3 in Hong Kong and only No. 10 in Japan, a major Internet powerhouse, according to Nielsen/NetRatings.
China is also considered to be particularly tough. Many Chinese companies already dominate the search market there. In June, Google invested a reported $10 million in one of them, Baidu.

Are these markets (Japan and China) worth pursuing? Besides the standard SEO procedures, developing sites in their local languages, and else? Worth it? Will that get a ranking? And if it does, will that generate a sale/lead? How many people are hooked online in China and Japan?

Are these the future markets? How to get more once you have captured ranks in Google USA, Uk and other parts of Europe?

Million Dollar question remain: JAPAN AND CHINA WORTH TARGETING?

China and Japan are very different. China has the fastest growing economy in the world with currently the second highest GNP; it will overtake the US in the next few decades. Japan however has an established economy with a more normal growth rate.

Million Dollar question remain: JAPAN AND CHINA WORTH TARGETING?

No, the Million Dollar question is do you have anything they might want?

One thing to bear in mind with both Japan and China is that in both there are a lot of people accessing the web through mobile devices. However, if you've got a product or service that could sell there, they are both huge markets and well worth chasing.

I doubt if Chinese surfers are comfortbale using their credit cards. Economy is fine but it has no correlation with the online surfer behaviour and ease at buying from the net.

Japan is an established market and has well defined processes on most fronts. So I assume, their online transcations must be far safe and superior. Likewise, the Japanese surfer must be more comfortable like the typical American surfer to make a purchase online.

And when I refer to a product, it could be an Online Drug, Casino, Adult or else. Maybe generic gifts as well.
