using different google's default search for different countries

i was doing a test to use exactly the same search term on googlechina (www.google.com/intl/zh-cn/), google.co.nz, and google.jp. i found some search result rankings on each site were not quite the same. anyone can explain that?

You're right, Google has been skewing results in local engines to produce better results locally. Preference seems to be given to local domains, local hosting and the language content of the pages returned in the SERPs.
