I saw this
fluff piece [seattlepi.nwsource.com] about blogging in Japan...actually it's more about Joi Ito's one man crusade for blogs. This guy has been closely associated with Infoseek Japan and Rakuten among other Internet related ventures. Recently he's been getting MovableType into the Japanese market. It may be an interesting read for some.
