I'm looking for some advice on the best way to go about position reporting in Asia (chinese, japanese and korean search engines).

Top Dog seems a bit sparse on these engines and its pretty unclear whether their 'chinese' deals with the traditional chinese or simplified.

Any help would be gratefully received! Anyone with experience of this - please tell me what you know.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld batty1.

We get this question every once in a while, but there's never been a definitive product that would do everything you ask. There are a few native products floating around that will handle their individual language groups, but I haven't heard of an outstanding single product that will do it all.

Is there anything new out there guys? I haven't used ranking reporting software for years.

Hi batty1, Welcome to WebmasterWorld.

Some of the various Rank Checkers do have a smattering of Asian SEDs in their systems, but, as Bill says, no one program ahs them all.

The best solution at this point would probably be a roll-your-own script.

Thanks for your welcomes guys. I had a funny feeling that if there was a great answer then it would already be in here but you never know. :)

Woz's solution sounds the best actually. Those big English language rank checking softwares always seemed to get it wrong when it came to processing Asian language SERPs. It probably wouldn't cost much to get someone to do it for you if you don't want to/can't do it yourself. Plus you could get the output you wanted rather than the results someone else thought you wanted.

It is not a perfect solution, but the Google monitor running on a Japanese system (or Japanesed English Win XP) does seem to work with a couple of exceptions.

It is using Google.com not co.jp, the variation is small, but can be significant.

There was another and now I cannot remember.

What is the Google monitor? Is that one of those Google APIs?

Hi,

You might like to do a search on google for
seo ƒ\ƒtƒg
This should give you a list of Japanese compatible software.
