In G, for a particular three letter acronym dear to our hearts, there are 8 Japanese pages in the top 20 results, that's 40%!
KW density would obviously be high as no other text would be deciphered, but an allinanchor search shows these pages also rank for the acronym in the link text.
So are the Japanese using English rather than Japanese terms in this sector, and if so, is this enough to explain this apparent anomaly?

Should have stuck this one over in the Asia/Pacific Forum [webmasterworld.com]...

Japanese loooove English acronyms and use them all the time. It is highly possible that companies or industry have adopted the 3 letter combo you're looking at, and the lack of English on the pages is skewing the keyword density in their favor. Their ranking for this term may be inadvertent, or you might be up against a Japanese SEO ;)

I could well understand a stratospheric KW density, but the pages are there in an allinanchor search as well; that makes me slightly suspicious that all is not rosy..... ;-)
