Here are the latest survey results (12th edition) from China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC):

1) E-mail: 91.8%
2) Search Engine: 70.0%
3) Online Chat: 45.4%
4) Software Upload/Download: 43%
5) Information Search: 37.8%
6) BBS, Forum, etc.: 22.8%
7) Newsgroup: 20.7%
8) Online Gaming: 18.2%
9) Multimedia Entertainment: 13.0%
10) Online Shopping: 11.7%

By June 30, 2003, there are 68 millions Internet users in China.

From other resource, the major SEs:
1) Sohu
2) Sina
3) Baidu
4) Google (Chinese)
5) Yahoo (Chinese)
6) Netease (163)

That's an interesting study [cnnic.net.cn] (is that the one you were referring to?). There are a whole lot more statistics all listed in English for anyone who is interested.

Your reference is the old version (11th edition). My data are the latest ones published in July. I have not seen the complete English version. Maybe later sometime.

It looks there is at this moment only a Chinese version [cnnic.net.cn]. Anyway, valortrade thanks for the information.
