Promoting a site in Australia and/or New Zealand

for example, is there an overture equivalent?

I've posted here, as I didn't want to post as specifically search engine orientated.

The site in question is currently promoted via overture, google adwords and ofcourse good SEO and is currently doing well with UK buyers and occasional overseas too.

We now want to promote more specifically in New Zealand and Australia.

Can anyone offer any advice on where to advertise. We don't want to do any print because it hasn't worked in the past and paid listings such as overture and adwords has been much better value for money

Is there an equivalent for australia/new zealand. I believe i should be able to update my adwords to show on .com.au but anything else?

Not sure whether there are immediate plans for Overture to expand downunder.

You could also try MSN direct, as they do sell PPC direct to "some" clients.

I've had a bit of a thought. Most of the current Adwords/Overture advertising uses .co.uk domains...

Maybe we need to use the .com and make sure international delivery etc is promoted on the site.

I see we do have aus and nz visitors at the moment, but not many, and i'm sure none of them are buying....

u could try www.ispy.co.nz, a ppc engine that is new but growing.

the other local ones to be concerned with are searchnz.co.nz and anzwers.com.au. kiwis especially still use altavista and lycos quite a bit (anecdotal evidence)

looksmart feeds msn so u kinda have to go there im afraid...

oh, and google.co.nz now allows you to targey specifc searches related to nz.

Sites for banner ads in NZ might include trademe.co.nz stuff.co.nz and nzoom.com
