One of the better articles I've seen in a long time about the industry by someone not "in" the industry, so to speak. A few mistakes were corrected for the online version.
side note: there was a HORRIBLE copy of the article in a Korean paper (I mentioned this in another thread). No reference to the original article and completely erroneous in its translation. Figures. Hard enough to explain SEM type stuff to the people here, much less with some schmuck reporter giving wrong information.
Anyways, what are rules on posting articles? wsj needs a subscription to see the articles.
.. Minor fair use excerpts of less than one paragraph (4 sentences) may be used if the content is publically available on the internet.(point 10 of the TOS [webmasterworld.com])
No can do I am afraid due to copyright laws. A few quotations is OK as Fair Usage which is what you have already done. Can you link to the article even though it needs a subscription please?
Regardless, it is nice to see some coverage in the major Asian media, I still believe there is a lot of scope for good ol' fashioned SEO in the Asia-Pacific market.

Couldn't agree more! That's why I'm in Singapore right now - the response has been pretty encouraging.
>I still believe there is a lot of scope for good ol' fashioned SEO in the Asia-Pacific market
DEFINITELY. The AWSJ article talks about SEO. It basically breaks down search advertising into three categories:
PPC, PFI and SEO. and does an explanation with example of each.
Actually there are a handleful of SEO companies in Korea. :) And more are popping up. I know many of them are flooded nowadays too with SEM getting more and more attention nowadays. Zingu.com (local Korean PPC) has alliances with most if not all of them, but I haven't heard much about OV end of things though you can be sure they have something going on. I've read some stuff about Japan and other asian companies making closer ties with PPCs as well.
here's the link as per request (thanks for the info about article posting rules =P)
