Seems that the overture suggestion tool in Japan is converting some katakana english words into Japanese text.
eg- eigo becomes the Japanese text ‰pŒê
Only does it to a few words- kinda strange.

David you're right...that is odd. I typed in 'hotel' in English and I get the Japanese katakana word for hotel. I wonder how that could be of any use to anyone? If you're bidding on a specific English keyword that's certainly not useful. It looks like Overture's Match Driver has taken some strange twists in development for the Japan market.

That sounds quite amazing you mean if I do not have a japanese keyword (not that it would help) I could type in the Katakana and it will translate it for me into proper written Japanese.

Not just that, but it's doing that for some English keywords as well. The whole MatchDriver system that Overture uses has a lot to do with parsing out keywords and finding related words so that they can suck more money out of their advertisers. For Japan they obviously added in some English dictionaries...

Hi all,

Is there a direct URL to the overture suggestion tool- Japan?

I hunted around links on the site and couldn't find it. :(

TIA
