Hey,

Just wondering if people had any info regarding the most popular search engines in:
1) Hong Kong
2) Singapore
3) New Zealand

(mainly from a PPC perspective)

Cheers

For New Zealand I would say Google and MSN.

As far as local search engines go, the only one worth a damn is searchnz.co.nz... but I'm not sure how well known it is, and I don't think it does PPC.

Ozlad18,

I can only re-iterate what deejay has said from a NZ perspective - Google seems to be the engine of choice for most, followed by MSN.

The searchnz.co.nz engine is a pretty good local one but I don't know of too many other people who use it that often. And from memory it doesn't do PPC. And, from experience, when trying to submit a site to them it has to be extremely clear that the site meets the following criteria:

- clearly shown on the Web site to be owned and designed by a New Zealander

- primarily intended for New Zealand viewers or clearly about New Zealand

Not easy to do if you also cater for international visitors and have a dotcom.

Good luck,

2odd...

For SINGAPORE I would say Google.com.sg &yahoo.com.sg &http://www.technofind.com.sg/
Google & Yahoo I don't want say more. the TechnoFind has its own feature, it is the truly local search engines. Check out all the hotels in Singapore already on the web. Find out their room rates before making online reservations from their home pages. Information comes with U.S. dollars exchange rates.
Simply Singapore is a web directory of Singapore websites. Ever wonder about how and where to start looking? Simply Singapore provides one with an overview of websites in Singapore by industry / category.
