Hi guys, my first post here so please be kind.....

Does anyone run, or know of anyone running the Linux hardware appliances Google sells on web sites in Australia? I understand the entry level device is $US28k. (see below)

Google seem hard to contact, and I suspect that they may not wish to engage with potential Oz customers just yet.

I am interested it in this for my public site, and some sprawling intranets I have as well.

regards

Hardware Details found here [google.com]. (Woz)

Welcome to WebmasterWorld sprocket!

Looks like the appliance is only for US/Canadian customers at the moment. I'm sure they will roll it out to me, you and the rest of the world shortly. I think it is more of a support/sales structure thing than a lack of appriciation of the purchasing potential of us commonwealth folks ;)

If you're looking for a Google-like search appliance, the local Wombat guys have a similar offering here in Australia.

Google has a Sydney office and should be in the online White Pages. They could give you some estimate of when international sites might be approved to buy them.
